The Chicago Southland Chamber of Commerce held its 28th Annual Business-to-Business Expo on April 11, 2013, at the Tinley Park Convention Center. Sponsored by: Holiday Inn Hotel & Tinley Park Convention Center, Comcast Business Services & SouthtownStar. It was a day full of energy, kicked-off with an Awards Luncheon featuring guest speaker Ben Bradley, ABC 7 News. The Chamber recognized three nominees in six different categories and announced winners as follows: Business Achievement awarded to: Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurants Nominees: Riverdale Body Shop & Homewood Disposal Service, Inc. Economic Advocacy awarded to: Walt’s Food Centers Nominees: The Horton Group & Mi-Jack Products, Inc. Small Business Person of the Year awarded to: William Sandrick, Sandrick Law Firm LLC Nominees: Quintis Millsaps, Q’s Cleaning Services, Inc. & Tim Rausch, Alpine Valley Water, Inc. Young Entrepreneur of the Year awarded to: Brandon Raimondi, Sublime Development LLC Nominees: Ericka Moore, The Story of [e]. & Brenna Norder, BOOM! Fitness Business Woman of the Year awarded to: Vicky Linko, Funk Linko Inc. Nominees: Deb Sedberry, MB Financial Bank & Renee Hill, Warren Insurance Agency, Inc. Business Education awarded to: Chicago Southland EDC / GreenTIMEZone Nominees: Keeling Family Foundation / VETTECH Project & Southland Health Care Forum Nearly 80 exhibiting booths displayed samples, and sold products and services to hundreds of attendees. Homewood-Flossmoor High School Jazz Band kicked off a Business After Hours, which took place in the center of the show floor. At the close of the event, many exhibitors raffled off prizes including White Sox tickets, big screen TVs & a refurbished computer! Event Co-chair, Phil Maser of Riverdale Body Shop said “The vendors had an opportunity to get in front of business people who make decisions for their company. They understood the importance of this kind of program.” Deb Sedberry of MB Financial Bank, event Co-chair said "Vendors were engaged with visitors, lots of great networking. The awards luncheon with Ben Bradley was amazing! I was extremely pleased with the turnout.”
